The short version
Some links on this site are affiliate links. If you click one and buy something, we may receive a commission at no additional cost to you. This is how the site is funded, alongside display advertising.
What it does not change
Which products we recommend. How we score them. The order they appear in. Whether we mention a product's flaws.
Our rankings come from testing againstpublished criteria. Several products we recommend have no affiliate program at all, and some products with generous commission rates score poorly here and are described that way.
How to spot them
Every page carrying affiliate links shows a disclosure above the first link. Affiliate links carry a rel="sponsored" attribute. On product pages we state whether the link is an affiliate link or a plain link.
Programs we participate in
We work with a number of software vendors directly and through affiliate networks. As our partnerships change, this page is updated.
