AI content policy
A site about AI tools should be honest about its own use of them. Here is exactly where AI is and is not used in our work.
Last updated 29 August 2026
Where we use AI
- Research: gathering pricing, features and documentation for review
- First drafts of explanatory sections, always rewritten by a human editor
- Summarising our own testing notes
- Checking our writing for clarity and errors
Where we do not
- Test results. If a page says we called a number or ran a workflow, a person did.
- Scores. Every number comes from human judgement against our published criteria.
- Opinions and recommendations.
- Published pages with no human review. There are none.
Accountability
Every article carries a named author who is accountable for its accuracy, whatever tools were used along the way. If something is wrong, a person got it wrong and that person will fix it.
Why we publish this
We review AI software. Being vague about our own use of AI would be an odd position to take.
